When we use the term "Registering Learners", we are referring to the ability to associate a Learner with a Program in the Dallas City of Learning system. This is an essential step to see Data Insights about Learners in your Programs or if you intend to issue Badges to these Learners after they have participated in your Program or completed other criteria.
As of October 2016, we no longer provide the ability for an admin to create an account for a Learner through the admin dashboard. This functionality was removed to provide richer interaction between your Organization, your Learners and the Dallas City of Learning platform by fostering familiarity with the system for Learners and ensuring accuracy in registering and awarding badges for Organizations. This move also bolsters the overall integrity of the system by vastly reducing the ability to create duplicate accounts.
Before proceeding, please check with your Organization Administrator to make sure that you have an admin account set up with the proper permissions. Refer to this article to learn more about the different types of admin access. Please also make sure that you have created Programs for Learners to register to. Refer to this article for more information on creating Programs.
Registering a Learner to Your Program
- Log in to your organization's dashboard and click the "Programs" link on the left hand side of the page to go to the Org Programs page. Select the Program that you would like to register Learners to and go to the Program Details page.
- On the Program Details page, click the "Register Learners" button:
- A "Share Your Program Code" window will pop up displaying the Program Code that you will need to share with Learners in order for them to register for your Program:
- Clicking "Print Instructions For Your Learners" will generate a user-focused, printable version of the instructions that you can print and distribute. Click here for more information on how to claim a Program Code.
